Take Daily Inspired Actions to Fill Your Practice

by Ann Strong,  Instigator of Thriving Coaches

With way too much to do in a day, we must take only the actions that will deliver our desired outcomes. But how do we know what to do and let go of the rest? By learning to consistently make decisions from inspiration rather than overwhelm.

Choosing from Inspiration, not Overwhelm

If you begin each day from a calm, centered place, you ensure inspiration. What can you do in 20 to 30 minutes each morning to clear your mind? Choose from meditation, walking, yoga, inspirational reading, journaling or your personal favorite.

Dumping

What works best for me right now involves a technique I call Dumping. In my Dumping notebook, I write longhand for two to four pages, writing and releasing whatever seems overwhelming to me. Without fail, as I continue to write, the content shifts from whining and complaining to possibility thinking. Most days I receive clear, inspired actions as I finish writing. I then re-write those in a different color of ink at the bottom of the page so that I can find them easily and transfer them to my to-do list or Daytimer. I then throw away the Dumping pages.

Filling Your Practice

Don't try to fill your practice from an overwhelmed brain and a cluttered desk. Remember garbage in, garbage out? Give yourself the gift of clearing space every morning so that you can discern your inspired actions. Life is too short. Why over-work it?
